Temenos chamber
choir explores the finest
a capella choral music from
the Renaissance to the
present day, but has a special
affection for early
music of the 16th and 17th centuries.
Charles Vignoles
is the Musical Director
and conductor. Under his
leadership, the choir gives
three major concerts a year,
mainly in the Sevenoaks
and Shoreham area, but
occasionally further afield. The June concert is an integral part of
the Shoreham Festival of Music.
At each concert, the choir plays
host to exciting young instrumentalists at the threshold of their
careers, with music to complement the choral programme.
There are five rehearsals before
each concert, on Wednesday evenings in the Sevenoaks area, with one
Sunday afternoon rehearsal.
Singers should have good sight-reading
skills, and voices without vibrato are the most appropriate for the
repertoire. Entry is by audition. |
